Bathysphere have been working with long time collaborator Michael Pinchbeck on a soundtrack for his latest production “The End”

Inspired by the stage direction from The Winter’s Tale by William Shakespeare – ‘Exit pursued by a bear’, The End explores endings and exits and continues an interest in the reenactment of real life events to investigate absence and loss. Developed at The Junction (Cambridge), Brighton Dome and Festival, New Art Exchange and Lakeside Arts Centre (Nottingham). Commissioned by Chester Performs. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
The show will be touring in 2011.

Bathysphere are currently working with Michael Pinchbeck on an audio installation at the Cope Auditorium, Loughborough University.

The installation rums from Wed 13- Sat 16 & Wed 20- Sat 23 January, 2-6 pm.

Michael Pinchbeck remembers plays The Falcon Players have performed at Loughborough University. This sound installation brings back to life old stage directions (the words that were never meant to be heard) and sets them alongside personal reflections from members of the group.

The installation at the Cope Auditorium will sit somewhere between the amateur and the academic, onstage and offstage.

And The Curtain Falls marks the end of a series of projects stemming from an interest in amateur dramatics as both a mode of performance and a meditation on memory, nostalgia and loss.
